Mortal remains of late singer KK reaches Mumbai, funeral to take place on June 2

The mortal remains of singer Krishnakumar Kunnath aka KK have reached Mumbai. The singer passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 53. The shocking incident took place after his live performance at the Nazrul Mancha auditorium in Kolkata. The singer fell ill while performing at a concert in Kolkata and was brought to the CMRI hospital, where he was declared dead.

The late singer’s mortal remains were honoured with a gun salute on June 1 in Kolkata. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee arrived at Kolkata’s Rabindra Sadan to pay her last respects. KK is survived by his wife Jyothy and two children.

The mortal remains of KK have reached Mumbai and the last rites of the popular singer will take place on June 2 at 1 pm in Mumbai. The news was shared by his family members who also shared the venue of his last rites and other details on his official Instagram. KK’s Antim Darshan is to be held at Park Plaza in Andheri from 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM. On the other hand, Antim Yatra will be at 1 PM at Versova Hindy Cemetery.

As per PTI, KK died after suffering from cardiac arrest. A senior official told the news agency, “The initial report suggested that the singer died because of myocardial infarction. There was no foul play behind his death. Clinical examination also found that the singer was having prolonged cardiac issues.” He also added that the final report will be available after 72 hours.
