OMG: Abhishek Kapoor drags Farhan Akhtar to court

Actor Producer singer Farhan Akhtar and director Abhishek Kapoor the once best friends turned enemies. The two have developed serious differences over the sequel of their 2008 hit movie ‘Rock On’. Now Kapoor has dragged Akhtar to court.

Abhishek Kapoor, has filed a lawsuit against once friend cum partner, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment for not giving him due credit for the script of ‘Rock On 2’. The sequel’s script was credited to Pubali Chaudhari.

Abhishek Kapoor claims that he and Pubali were working together on the script of ‘Rock On 2’ since 2011. In 2013 Pubali got the script registered with Film Writers’ Association without informing Abhishek. Then Abhishek Kapoor had fallen out with Excel Entertainment due to creative differences.

When Abhishek Kapoor contacted the production house, he was allegedly told that Pubali solely wrote the screenplay and story of ‘Rock On 2’. Now, Kapoor has moved Bombay High Court, seeking an injunction against Excel from producing the movie, or entering into any third-party agreements related to it.

Farhan Akhtar said, “I would much rather the court decide since its gone there. I have nothing to say. He’s a friend of mine and I don’t want to talk about him in public.”

It saddens to see one time friends fighting so, we hope they resolve their differences soon.
