Padmavati: Shahid receives backlash on Instagram as he posts a new song

Shahid Kapoor recently uploaded a new song ‘Ek Dil Ek Jaan’ from ‘Padmavati’ on his Instagram account. The song showcases love between Rani Padmavati and Raja Maharawal Singh. The song is a visual delight and everyone is going gaga over the romantic number. But then, there are some who are still stuck on calling a ban for this film.

We know that ‘Padmavati’ film is mired in a controversy with Rajput Sena. The organisations hailing and protecting the honour of Rajputana history are calling for a ban on this film as they believe that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has maligned the image of their beloved Queen Padmavati by showing her romancing Alauddin Khilji in a dreamy scene. Even though SLB has clarified numerous times that there is no scene as such, people refrain from believing him. (Also Read: Dear Sanjay Leela Bhansali, no more clarifications PLEASE!)

So on Shahid’s Instagram post, we can see people calling a ban on this film. Even threats are given out that cinema halls would be burnt if the film makes it to the theatres.
