On legendary filmmaker-actor Raj Kapoor’s 33rd death anniversary (June 2) his granddaughters Riddhima Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor remembered him by sharing a major throwback picture. The filmmaker’s daughter-in-law Neetu Kapoor Singh also shared a clip from one of his interviews in which he is heard talking about life and the regrets he had.

In the clip posted by Neetu, the iconic Raj Kapoor is heard saying, “There are so many regrets I can’t tell you. I am full of all of them because what I wanted to be I don’t think I have reached anywhere near it. My regret is that lord when I just started to play don’t take me away. When time, life, age teaches you, you feel like you are somewhere near and accepting what God has granted you, given you in abundance all around you, nature. To do, to achieve, you feel it’s getting late. There’s very little time left, that’s one big regret.”

Taking to her Instagram stories, Riddhima shared a major throwback picture in which Raj Kapoor is seen smiling for the camera, holding his granddaughters in his arms. Little Karisma Kapoor is seen standing next to grandpa while toddler Riddhima and Kareena are seen sitting in his lap.

Kareena Kapoor reshared cousin Riddhima’s post on her Instagram stories and wrote, “Dadaji with his girls ❤️.”

Raj Kapoor has given Indian cinema some gems like Awara and Bobby. He is rightfully known as the greatest showman in the history of Indian cinema and entertainment. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 1971 for his contributions to the arts. India’s highest award in cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, was bestowed on him in 1987 by the Government of India.
