Rakesh Roshan recently praised his son, Hrithik Roshan, highlighting his intelligence and education while revealing his struggles with stammering. In an interview, Rakesh recounted a memorable moment when Hrithik, during an event, found it difficult to say “Thank you, Dubai.” He also mentioned a time when the Krrish actor felt so overwhelmed that he locked himself in the bathroom.
Rakesh Roshan Speaks On Hrithik Roshan’s Stammering Issues
Talking about Hrithik Roshan’s stammering problem, his father Rakesh Roshan said to ANI, “I used to feel bad. He wants to say so many things. He is so well-educated and very intelligent. But he used to hold himself back because of his stuttering. Once, I remember that he was in Dubai, and he wanted to just say thank you, Dubai. And he used to get stuck on the word D…”
He further added, “He has locked himself inside the bathroom. To learn those two sentences by heart, to say thank you, Dubai. So I used to feel bad, that he is such a progressive man, but something is holding him back. He worked so hard on it. He would wake up in the morning and read the newspaper for an hour in English, Hindi, and Urdu. And now he doesn’t stutter. For the last 10, 12, 14 years.” Hrithik has openly discussed his stammering issue in past interviews, expressing how difficult it was for him as a child, especially in school.

Regarding their collaborative works, Rakesh and Hrithik have teamed up on films such as Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000), Koi Mil Gaya (2003), and the Krrish franchise. Recently, they were featured in the Netflix docu-series The Roshans.
It offered a glimpse into the lives of Rakesh, his son Hrithik, and their family legacy, spanning three generations in the film industry. Directed by Shashi Ranjan, the series honours the legacy of the late Roshan Lal Nagrath and his sons, Rajesh and Rakesh.
Hrithik’s Upcoming Films
Going forward, Hrithik is set to star in War 2. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film also features Jr NTR.
