Ranveer Singh in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble talked about how he had to give a rap test to Zoya Akhtar for ‘Gully Boy’. For those who are unaware, ‘Gully Boy’ is based on rapping.

Ranveer said, ”Zoya Akhtar (director) called me to a Bandra studio and took my test. They asked me (Zoya along with music composers) to rap for ‘Mere Gully Mein’ and I did that. I passed that and look, now I have 4-5 songs in the album myself. I had an inclination that I had to do this film and with Zoya being there to direct, I had to do this film.”

The handsome hunk further added, ‘‘Gully Boy’ is based in Mumbai and I have been born and brought up in Mumbai. I am incredibly proud of my city and I was getting Mumbai and hip-hop together. So, at the time of narration, I knew I had to do this film and if someone else had done I would have been really pissed.”

Ranveer Singh, if we go by the promos has done a stellar job in ‘Gully Boy’.
