In Bollywood being an actor is very easy but not everyone can become a star. Stardom is something which every actor craves for but then you have to live up to people’s expectations. And with the current time, where content has proved to be the king rather than the actors, pulling off stardom is not everyone’s cup of tea.

Last year we saw, three big-budget films -‘Race 3’, ‘Zero’ and ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ tanking at the box office. Interestingly these three films starred Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. Now, these Khans are definitely the biggest stars of Bollywood but with the changing times even they can’t guarantee foot-falls in the theatre if the film’s script is not good.

Recently during a media interaction, Salman was asked if stardom will dwindle with the coming generation, to which he cooly replied, “It will always fade away. And it is a huge task to keep it going for a long time. I think, Shah Rukh, Aamir, Akshay and I are the only ones who have been able to put it up for such a long time. And we will try our best to keep it going for another few years.”

The ‘Bharat’ actor further added, “I know of superstars…jinka phir later on jaake box office collection 8-10% aata hai. So that is going to happen to us as well. But I don’t think so it has started yet.”

Well, let’s hope these stars understand that the audience’s taste has evolved so they will have to come up with genuinely entertaining and meaningful cinema. Only content will help them continue to enjoy their hard-earned stardom.
