Shabana Azmi reveals phishing attempts were being made under her name, files police complaint

Shabana Azmi is an active social media user. On Tuesday, she took to her Twitter and informed fans that someone is trying to impersonate her via messages. The veteran actress warned fans that the person is asking responders to make purchases on App Store for the messenger by using her name. She then revealed that she’s in the process of lodging a complaint.

Shabana warns against phishing attempts under her name

The veteran actress wrote, “It has come to our notice that some of our colleagues and associates, have received messages purported to be from Ms Shabana Azmi. These are clearly “phishing” attempts asking responders to make purchases on App Store for the messenger.”

It added, “Please do not reply or pick any calls/messages that appear to be coming to you from Shabanaji. This is a cybercrime of impersonation, and we are making a police complaint. As of now the two numbers from which these messages have been reported are +66987577041 and +998917811a675. Thank you.”

On the work front, Shabana was recently seen in Ghoomer. She delivered a terrific performance in the R Balki directorial. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher, and Angad Bedi. Amitabh Bachchan made a cameo in Ghoomer.

Prior to that, Shabana was seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. She played the role of Alia Bhatt’s character Rani Chatterjee’s grandmother in the film. She grabbed attention for her kiss with Dharmendra in RARKP. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which marked KJo’s directorial comeback after 7 years. It also starred Ranveer Singh, Jaya Bachchan, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Anjali Anand, and Kshitee Jog among others. For the uniniated, RARKPK has crossed Rs 300 crore at the global box office.
