Actor Suniel Shetty’s apartment building in Mumbai was on Sunday sealed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) after a rise in Covid-19 cases in the complex. The BMC sealed Prithvi Apartments on Altamount Road because of rising cases of coronavirus, sources told India Today. Actor Suniel Shetty stays in the sealed building, they said, and added that no case has been reported from the actor’s house so far. Suniel Shetty’s entire family lives on the 18th floor of this building.

BMC Assistant Commissioner of D-ward, Prashant Gaikwad, confirmed to India Today that Suniel Shetty’s building has been sealed. “Suniel Shetty’s entire family is safe,” the BMC Assistant Commissioner said.
As per protocol, any building with five active cases of Covid-19 is sealed by the civic body. At present, around 10 residential buildings have been sealed in the D-ward of Mumbai. The area includes Malabar Hill and Peddar Road.

The civic body has further warned of slapping a fine of ₹10,000 on a housing society if it found violating any of its norms. Subsequent instances of violation will attract a penalty of ₹20,000. Assistant municipal commissioners have been ordered to ensure strict implementation of norms related to MCZs with the help of police.

Suniel Shetty, on the other hand, was last seen in Sanjay Gupta’s Mumbai Saga. He will be next seen in the Telugu film Ghani with Varun Tej and Saiee Manjrekar. Mumbai recorded 555 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, taking the total number of cases in the country’s financial capital to 7,27,696.
