Sunita Ahuja Opens Up On 40-Year Marriage With Govinda And Forgiving His Mistakes; Says, “A Hero’s Wife Needs Heart Of Stone”

Sunita Ahuja has once again shared her thoughts on her long and eventful marriage with Bollywood actor Govinda. The couple, who have been together for almost forty years, have seen many ups and downs. Recently, after Govinda mentioned on Prime Video’s talk show Two Much that he often “forgives” his wife for speaking openly about their relationship, Sunita responded with a heartfelt reflection on their journey together.

She said that despite all the challenges, she has no regrets about standing by her husband through thick and thin. Sunita credited Govinda’s late mother, Nirmala Devi, as the main reason behind his success, recalling how she struggled to raise him and help him enter films. After Nirmala Devi passed away in 1996, Sunita said she took on a stronger role in supporting Govinda, both personally and professionally.

Speaking about the realities of being married to a film star, Sunita admitted that it’s not always easy. She explained that actors often spend a lot of time away from home and work closely with glamorous co-stars, which can be emotionally challenging. “Heroes spend more time with heroines than us… you have to be a very strong woman to be a hero’s wife. Your heart should be made of stone,” she said.
