He tweeted, “#AndhaDhun continues to shine at ticket counters in #China… Goes ahead of #Hollywood biggie #Shazam [on Tue], now occupies No 2 position… Truly unstoppable… Mon $ 1.46 mn, Tue $ 1.39 mn. Total: $ 16.66 mn [₹ 115.22 cr] (sic).

China has turned out to be a great market for Indian films. The past couple of years have shown us that. Films like ‘Dangal’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Secret Superstar’ have been huge successes at their box-office. The prime reason behind that is the numerous theatres in the country. While in India we have around 6000-7000 theatres, China has an estimated 40,000 theatres across the country. They love movies which are strikingly different from those made in China and that’s why films like ‘Dangal’ and ‘Andhadhun’ end up being massive successes.

Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte, Tabu and Anil Dhawan were appreciated for their stellar performances in the movie. Sriram Raghavan’s direction has always been impeccable, and with ‘Andhadhun’, he hit the bull’s eye to perfection.
