In an era where big-screen spectacles often see their momentum fade after the opening weekend, Raja Shivaji appears to be holding its ground quite comfortably. The historical drama has continued to attract audiences to theatres well beyond its initial release, with particularly strong support from Maharashtra and Marathi-speaking viewers. Alongside Riteish Deshmukh, the film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Genelia Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, and Mahesh Manjrekar. However, after the initial surge, collections have declined amid mixed reviews. Led by Riteish Deshmukh, the film crossed the Rs 60 crore mark on its ninth day at the domestic box office. Released on May 1, the period drama has remained steady despite facing the usual weekday slowdown and competition from newer releases. According to Sacnilk, Raja Shivaji earned Rs 5.60 crore net in India on Saturday, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 61.45 crore. The film had collected Rs 3.20 crore net on Friday.

The film wrapped up its first week with Rs 55.85 crore net. It began its theatrical run on a strong note with an opening collection of Rs 11.35 crore, followed by Rs 10.55 crore on Saturday and Rs 12 crore on Sunday. Like most theatrical releases, the film saw numbers dip during weekdays, but it managed to maintain a fairly stable trend.

About Raja Shivaji

Raja Shivaji is a film co-written and directed by Riteish Deshmukh, based on the life of Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire. Genelia D’Souza and Jyoti Deshpande have produced the film. Riteish and Genelia play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Saibai, respectively. Their sons, Rahyl and Riaan, portray young Shivaji.

The film also features Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, and Amole Gupte in key roles.
