‘Dabangg 3’ Box-Office Report: Salman Khan starrer inches closer to Rs 50 crore on Day 2

The third instalment of ‘Dabangg’ franchise has hit the theatres on December 20. It was one of the most-awaited movies of this year. There were advance bookings for the film and fans have gone crazy to see their favourite Chulbul Pandey back on screen. On Day 1, the movie collected Rs 24.5 crore. It could have encashed more but the CAA protests affected the collection.

Film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh has shared the Day 2 collection of ‘Dabangg 3’. He tweeted, “#Dabangg3 stays in the same range on Day 2… Few circuits up, few down… Protests hit biz hard… Loses approx ₹ 7.5 cr to ₹ 9 cr in 2 days… Biz should see a turnaround on Day 3 [Sun]… Fri 24.50 cr, Sat 24.75 cr. Total: ₹ 49.25 cr. India biz.”

In another tweet, Taran wrote that on Day 2, 9 minutes and 40 seconds portions are reduced from the run time of ‘Dabangg 3’.

Going by the collection, we can say that Salman Khan starrer will soon cross Rs 100 crore. Salman has a huge fan base and most of his movies have been part of the 100 crore club.

‘Dabangg 3’ shows the backstory of Chulbul Pandey as how he became a cop. Also, we get to see young Chulbul’s romance with Khushi (Saiee Manjrekar). Directed by Prabhudeva and produced by Salma Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Nikhil Dwivedi under the banner of Salman Khan Films, the movie also starred Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan, Kichcha Sudeep, Dimple Kapadia and Pramod Khanna in pivotal roles.
