Box Office Report: ‘Satyameva Jayate’ witnesses a major dip on day 2

After receiving a stupendous response on day one of its release with Rs 20.72 crores, Milap Milan Zaveri’s directorial ‘Satyameva Jayate‘ which clashed with Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Gold’ on August 15, saw a major dip on the day two at the box office.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared that this action-packed minted just Rs 7.92 crores at BO, though the film is expected to see an upward trend today, i.e on the day three.

Sharing the numbers on his Twitter handle, he wrote, “#SatyamevaJayate saw a big dip on Day 2… Expected to show an upward trend today [Day 3]… Single screens/mass belt remains strong… Wed 20.52 cr, Thu 7.92 cr. Total: ₹ 28.44 cr. India biz.”

Though the film has received an A certificate from the Censor Board Of India, ‘Satyameva Jayate’ backed by Emmay Entertainment and T Series has become the highest opener for not just John Abraham and Manoj Bajpaaye but also for Bhushan Kumar and Nikkhil Advani’s joint association.

Also featuring Manoj Bajayee and debutante Aisha Sharma, ‘Satyameva Jayate’ revolves around the story of a man named Vir and his fight against few corrupt policemen, who have ruined the reputation of the entire police Force of the country.
