Vicky Kaushal’s latest release ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ has earned Rs 8.20 crore on its first day at box office. According to reports, the military drama performed better than it was expected. If we go by the prediction, ‘Uri’ is likely to perform well over the weekends as well. The film is based on the Indian Armed Forces’ retaliatory attack on terror training camps across the Line of Control (LoC).

The film ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ was directed by Aditya Dhar, which stars Vickey Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles. Taking to Twitter, trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed the first-day collection of ‘Uri’ and its impressive amount.

Check out his tweet below:

Ever since its first look was out, Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Uri’ has been a topic of discussion. Bollywood Bubble’s Sameer Jha gave three and a half star and wrote: “Uri’ is nowhere near as bad. It makes your blood boil, you achieve catharsis with every small battle that the Indian army wins and you get goosebumps every time Vicky Kaushal screams, “How’s the josh?”

He added, “It’s executed badly and makes you cringe. Except for the fact that Major Vihaan (Vicky Kaushal) is a brave officer, there isn’t much else noteworthy about his character. His chest-thumping patriotism is great (though nowhere close to Sunny Deol’s immortal monologue in ‘Gadar’) and doesn’t come across as forced.”

At the ticket window, ‘Uri’ is facing competition from Anupam Kher’s film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. Ranveer Singh last release ‘Simmba’ is also doing a good job at the box office and it may affect ‘Uri’s business.
