Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, one of the prolific directors, is celebrating her birthday today. Zoya has delivered some impeccable movies in the past and most of them have turned out to be successful. Films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do, Gully Boy are still everyone’s favourites. But did you know actor Kareena Kapoor once told Zoya that she won’t be a director?

Moreover, their arguments reached such a level that Shah Rukh Khan had to intervene and the reason behind their fight was Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge. It so happened, the filmmaker had said on Koffee With Karan that during a party at Shah Rukh Khan’s house, Bebo had asked Zoya if she liked the iconic film, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. To which, Zoya said yes. Kareena Kapoor then asked her if DDLJ was her favourite film and Zoya added that she liked the movie but can’t call it her favourite film.

The Laal Singh Chaddha actor seemed unamused with the answer to the Luck By Chance director that she will never make a movie.

Zoya Akhtar said on the show that Kareena had told her, “If you don’t think Dilwale (DDLJ) is the best film ever made then you won’t be a director,” adding that Shah Rukh had to intervene and calm Kareena and Zoya at the party after their argument.

Well, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge is still considered to be one of the iconic movies and the most romantic movie of all time. DDLJ was running in the Maratha Mandir for more than 25 years.

Moreover, Zoya Akhtar, daughter of Javed Akhtar, turned 50 years old today. Wishing her on her birthday, her brother Farhan Akhtar said, “Yes!!! Yes I love you!! Happy birthday @zoieakhtar May life give you all you desire and a cherry on top.
