Dhurandhar Box Office Day 1: Ranveer Singh Starrer Dominates The BO Like A Boss; Emerges As 2025’s Third Highest Opener

Since its announcement and more so after it’s visuals were unveiled, Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar – starring Ranveer Singh as Indian spy Hamza Ali Mazari, was one of the most-awaited releases of 2025. Release yesterday (December 5), the film saw massive footfalls in theatres across the nation and earned an impressive Rs 28.60 crore NBOC at the box office. This massive collection has not only emerged as Ranveer Singh’s biggest opener to date but also earned the film a spot in the Top 5 biggest openers of Bollywood in 2025 list.

Praised for its clutter-breaking storytelling, scale, stellar performances, high-impact action, sharp cinematography and outstanding music, Dhurandhar has netted Rs 28.60 crore NBOC (India) on Day One. This impressive number has helped the Aditya Dhar film become the third highest opener of 2025 just behind Chhaava (Rs 33.10 crore) and War 2 (Rs 29 crore).

Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya and Lokesh Dhar under the banners Jio Studios and B62 Studios, The spy action thriller features some of Bollywood’s finest stars, including Ranveer Singh. Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Rakesh Bedi. Debutant Sara Arjun also plays a pivotal part in the narrative.

Giving the film a 4-star rating, Bollywood Bubble wrote in its review, “Dhurandhar is worth a watch as it not only has some of Bollywood’s best actors delivering top-notch performances, but it’s a also a patriotic film that honours and celebrates the unknown and unsung heroes who willingly enter the most dangerous of situations in order to make sure the nation is safe.” The review also noted, “Dhurandhar’s music, cinematography and dialogues along with a well-written but lengthy script also deserve rounds of applauds.”
