Ek Din Box Office Day 1: Junaid Khan, Sai Pallavi Romantic Drama Debuts On A Disappointing Note; Fails To Beat Loveyapa, Mints Rs 1 Cr

Ek Din, starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, opened weakly at the box office with low occupancy and muted audience response overall. The romantic drama directed by Sunil Pandey was released in theatres on May 1, but had a slow start at the box office. The film features Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. “Ek Din” couldn’t match the opening numbers of “Love Story” and “Loveyapa.” Notably, “Loveyapa,” which marked Junaid Khan’s theatrical debut, opened at Rs 1.15 crore but failed to sustain its run in theatres. According to Sacnilk, Ek Din collected Rs 1 crore net across 1,710 shows on its opening day, bringing its total India gross to Rs 1.20 crore. The overall occupancy rate was just 14%. In comparison to other romantic films, Ek Din had a modest start and didn’t manage to surpass the opening numbers of films like Love Story (2021) and Loveyapa (2025).

Loveyapa, Junaid Khan’s theatrical debut, opened at Rs 1.15 crore but failed to make a significant impact at the box office. Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi’s popular Telugu film Love Story earned Rs 9.05 crore on its first day. Additionally, Saiyaara (2025), a Hindi romantic drama, had the best opening among recent releases, with Rs 21.50 crore.
