Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur is receiving praise from all corners for the actor’s effortless portrayal of field marshal Sam Manekshaw. Despite being released alongside Animal, the movie recorded a bumper start at the box office. On Day 1, Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur earned over Rs 6 crores at the box office emerging as the actor’s third biggest opener.

Meghna Gulzar’s biographical drama earned Rs 6.25 crores on its first day. With this, the movie emerged as Vicky’s second biggest opener of all time after URI: The Surgical Strike (Rs 8.20cr). Looking at the audience reaction, the movie is constantly receiving positive response. With the exceptional word of mouth, the movie is expected to witness growth over the weekend!

A day ahead of release, Vicky shared his excitement for the film. He shared a pic with Meghna Gulzar and wrote, “Finally… our SAM is all yours!!! #SAMबहादुर in cinemas today!” He also thanked the audience for their unconditional love and stated, “Our heartfelt gratitude to all of you for welcoming India’s greatest soldier with so much love!”
