Aa Gaya Hero, Trapped and Machine

This weekend is a poor one for the new Hindi releases as none of the movies managed to register a bumper opening at the box office. (Also Read: ‘Trapped’ movie review: We are in awe of this grasping survival drama)

Abbas-Mustan’s ‘Machine‘ launching his son Mustafa in the lead role opposite Kiara Advani did a business of Rs 55 lakh and Rs 50 lakh on Friday and Saturday respectively. The movie did a business of Rs 1.05 crore in first two days. It’s indeed a low number, but with a Hollywood movie and two Hindi movies releasing on the same day, it’s quite an expected number.

Raj Kummar Rao-starrer survival drama ‘Trapped’ may have earned rave reviews from critics, but the box office numbers are disappointing as the movie managed to do a business of Rs 25 lakh on Friday and Rs 45 lakh on Saturday, taking the total collection to Rs 70 lakh which is very low. Raj Kummar Rao’s powerful performance could not save the numbers for this movie.

Finally, Govinda’s comeback flick ‘Aa Gaya Hero’ fell flat with total 2-day business to Rs 40 lakh, Rs 20 lakh on Friday and 20 lakh on Saturday. Govinda’s dance moves and comic timing could do nothing to save the fate of this movie which was criticized severely at the box office too.

To sum it up, all the three movies are disasters and will unfortunately fail to recover in Print and Advertisement.
