Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher are currently gearing up for the release of their upcoming movie Ghoomer. The recently released trailer has unveiled that the film is set to be a gripping sports drama. Notably, the trailer also features a cameo appearance by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Abhishek Bachchan candidly discussed his experience of having his father Amitabh Bachchan in the film.

During the interview, Abhishek Bachchan disclosed that he didn’t have the opportunity to share screen space with his father in Ghoomer. Their roles were in separate scenes. Abhishek revealed that director R. Balki wished to include his father in the film. He shared, “I think every actor would love to have that kind of bond with their director. They share a great relationship which is of mutual love and respect. Balki is very kind when he says that he will not make a film without him. Have in him whatever capacity and he did so the same in Ghoomer.”

Further talking about not being able to share screen space with his father, Abhishek expressed, “Unfortunately, I didn’t get to perform with him in the same scene but as he said we are lucky to have him in our film.”

Director R. Balki also shared the difference between the father-son duo in their acting patterns. He shared, “He is a lucky charm of Bollywood. For the Indian film industry, he is a lucky charm. Between Amitji and Abhishek except for the grace that they kind of carry for their performances, see I think the grace of an actor kind of shows otherwise I don’t think so there is anything in common. They are very distinctive as actors. completely different in fact in a lot of ways.”

The father-son duo have previously shared scene space in movies like Bunty Aur Babli, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Sarkar, Paa and Bol Bachchan. We can’t wait to witness this amazing sports drama come to life with the acting prowess of this dynamic duo.

Ghoomer is directed by R. Balki, known for his acclaimed works such as Cheeni Kum, Paa and Pad Man. The movie also stars Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles. Amitabh Bachchan marks a cameo in the movie as he was seen as a commentator. The movie also marks the debut of Shivendra Singh and Invaka Das. The movie is slated to 18 August 2023.
