EXCLUSIVE: Alaya F REACTS to Priyanka Chopra calling her ‘Bollywood’s next superstar’

Alaya F made her Bollywood debut with Jawaani Jaaneman in 2020. Post that, Alaya went on to star in films like Freddy and Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat. Alaya has successfully carved a niche for herself in the industry. In fact, Alaya has impressed many with her performances including global icon Priyanka Chopra. Some time back, Priyanka called Alaya ‘Bollywood’s next superstar’ in one of the interviews.

Alaya F talks about Priyanka Chopra…

Now, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Alaya F opened up on receiving praise from Priyanka Chopra. Recalling the ‘surreal’ moment, Alaya told us, “I remember waking up and my mom had sent me this article. I read the headline, it said Priyanka Chopra calls Alaya the next superstar. So, I’ve just woken up and I have seen this message and I was like ‘one second, what?’.”

Alaya added, “I remember I was like ‘where is this clip?’, ‘where has she said this?’ I went hunting for this video and when I saw it, I don’t even know how to describe to you how I felt at the moment because it was unexpected, it caught me out of the blue and it felt so incredibly special. There’s no one that I’ve admired more in this industry and I have said this from my first interviews. Not only her career but her persona has always been something I’ve looked up to and admired. It felt incredible like I was like getting a prestigious award. It felt special.”

Earlier this year, Priyanka attended the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Texas where she was asked which Bollywood actress she thought could be the next superstar in the industry. The actress had said, “I think Alia Bhatt is, but she is a Bollywood superstar so I can’t say. I really like Alaya Furniturewala, she is Pooja Bedi’s daughter. And I told her when I met her that I think she is just cool and has a unique perspective. She is not trying to be like everyone else. I think we’ll find out in a few years.”

Post that, Alaya shared a note on Instagram to thank her.

On the work front, Alaya will be next seen in U-Turn. Directed by Arif Khan, U-Turn will be released on 28th April 2023 on Zee5.
