EXCLUSIVE: Ammy Virk Recalls Disrespect At The Hand Of A Big Music Producer In Mumbai, ADMITS, “This Never Happens In Punjab”

Ammy Virk has successfully cemented a name for himself not only in Punjabi, but also Bollywood Cinema. He is once again collaborating with Sargun Mehta for a comedy movie. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Ammy recalls how a renowned Mumbai based music producer once disrespected him.

Ammy Virk on getting disrespected by a known music producer

During the chat, we asked Ammy about his first ever rejection that pinched him. To this he shared, “The first time I truly felt rejection was from a popular music producer. I won’t mention his name as he is quite renowned and doing his best to date. Unhone humari vocals maangi thi kisi gaane ke liye, toh mere ko kisi ne bataya tha ki yeh multiple artists ki vocal mangwate hai aur jo best sound karta hai usko rakhte hai. Aur woh kisi ko batate bhi nahi hai ki vocals use kar rahe hai ya nahi. (He had asked for our vocals for a song. Someone told me that he usually asks multiple artists to send in their vocals and then chooses the best one. Later, he doesn’t even inform whether the vocals were used or not).”

The actor added, “He apparently did the same thing with Gippy Grewal once as well. I didn’t like that. He’s a big name in the industry and has been working in Mumbai for quite some time. Toh unko maine mere vocals bhi bhejke rakhi par unhone use nahi ki. Obviously mere se acha kisi ne gaya hoga that’s why unhone rakha. But wo disrespect hai. Punjab main hum aisa nahi karte. Jisne gaya hai wohi rahega. (I had sent him my vocals, but he didn’t use them. Obviously, someone else must have sung better, which is why he chose theirs. But still, it felt disrespectful. In Punjab, we don’t work like that).”

He concluded, “ Either you don’t ask for vocals or clarify you have approached multiple artists. So that was when I really felt rejected, and it hurt. So now, we’re a bit stubborn about whether or not we even want to work with him again.”

The actor will next be seen in Saunkan Saunkanay 2 which also stars Nimrat Khaira.
