Arjan Bajwa

Arjan Bajwa, who has been a part of Rustom, Fashion, Kabir Singh, along with Tamil movie Bigil with Thalapathy Vijay, the web series State of Siege: 26/11, and Demon Hunters, an India-Taiwan official co-production, among others, doesn’t buy into the constant pressure to document every part of life online. He believes in drawing a firm line between what belongs on a public feed and the toll that constant exposure eventually takes.

Arjan Bajwa: I’m Not In Favour Of Putting Everything On Social Media

Asked whether he is in favour of putting everything on social media, Arjan Bajwa doesn’t hesitate in giving Bollywood Bubble an answer. He says, “I am definitely not in favour of putting everything on social media, even though it has become a compulsion and a norm to be actively posting things for algorithms to pick up or any technical gibberish that people will tell you.”

For him, not everything needs to be documented or shared with the world. He states, “I feel that your life is not there for display. Some novelty has to be maintained. Also, it’s a professional thing that you have to be acting on social media, but personal life is not for everybody to talk and everywhere to display.”

Arjan: We Have Become So Dependent On Social Media That It Affects Your Mental, Physical & Emotional Health

But his concerns about social media go beyond privacy. Arjan Bajwa also believes the constant consumption of content can take a toll on a person’s overall well-being. He shares, “We have become so dependent on social media that it is now actually affecting your mental, physical and emotional health altogether.” The actor continues, “Physically, you get tired, your eyes hurt and your thumbs or fingers start to cramp. When it reaches a point, keep away your phone, otherwise you are constantly at it.”

During the conversation, Arjan also points to the emotional impact of being constantly exposed to information from around the world, particularly negative news. He explains, “It is emotionally draining also because of watching news, good, bad and ugly, all over the world and getting information straight away, affecting your mood and state of mind.”

While he acknowledges that staying informed has become an important part of modern life, he believes the constant stream of negative information can be difficult to process. Arjan Bajwa shares, “As much as we are dependent on getting to know about the happenings around us, things which are negative also come as a part of it. And when things like that are strong, they affect your emotions also equally strongly.”
