After spending nearly two decades in the entertainment industry, Arjan Bajwa has made a name for himself with projects such as Fashion, Rustom, Kabir Singh, and more. During an exclusive interaction with Bollywood Bubble, the actor – who survived in the industry with no backing, opened up the difficulties faced by outsiders and the struggles they have to face daily in order to succeed. Scroll below to read all he said.
Arjan Bajwa On Surviving In The Industry As An Outsider
As someone who entered Bollywood without industry backing, Arjan admits the outsider journey comes with relentless pressure and uncertainty. He said, “Being an outsider is a big challenge because you get nothing, absolutely nothing, on the platter. You have to prove yourself in every way on an everyday basis.”
But instead of offering a formula for survival, he speaks about endurance and focusing on one’s own path rather than constantly comparing careers. He said, “There’s no particular survival code, but you have to just believe in yourself. I always believe that let me run my own race and not be bothered about what’s happening around me.” He added, “You cannot let the things that are stacked against you win; you have to fight against the odds on an everyday basis.”
Reflecting on how many actors from his generation disappeared despite promising starts, he acknowledged that survival itself requires a certain kind of resilience. He said, “There were hundreds of people whom I knew who were doing more work than me when we all started. Now, many a time, I sit with certain friends who are still part of the industry, still my friends from those times, and only a handful are left from our group.”
“It takes a special kind of confidence, courage, and belief in yourself. Your hard work and God’s blessings both have to go hand in hand,” Arjan concluded.
Arjan Bajwa has been part of several film industries, including Telugu, Hindi and Tamil. The actor has starred in films such as Fashion, Bobby Jasoos, Rustom, Kabir Singh, Bigil and more.
