Avika Gor on the tag of a child actor

Being a child actor can make the audience not see the artists as a leading face so easily. Since Anandi became such a success, we asked Avika if it ever hindered her career. She responded in the negatory saying, “I think it’s a big plus. Because of that show Balika Vadhu and my character Anandi, even now people recognize me and think of me as their own family member.”

The actress elaborated on her connection with the show saying, “I think that’s the connection that one show gave me and I think it’s a very big deal and I do not want that tag to ever go away. I feel blessed that I was the chosen one for that character. I really think that I would want that image to be there forever because whenever people see me, be it in any Telugu film, or any project, they just remember ‘yeh toh apni Anandi hai’. And I think that tag is very rare. Any actor receiving that kind of connection is very rare. I think I’m very lucky that way.”

Avika was a part of Balika Vadhu from 2008-2010. She worked alongside legends like the late Surekha Sikri in the show. The actress followed it with some more work on TV with shows like Sasural Simar Ka and Laado, before delving into the South industry.
