Nidhi Shetty Gets Candid On Long Work Hour Shifts

Television actors often speak out about long working hours and shooting even while unwell during demanding 12-hour shifts. Sharing her perspective on the issue, Nidhi Shetty said, “Honestly, it is very hectic, but this is what we signed up for. We have to shoot for 12 hours, and you know, sometimes it stretches to 13 hours, even 14 hours. But I think it’s always good to keep working because otherwise we’re always complaining. Jab kaam nahi hota hai, we say we want to stay busy, and when we are working, we complain about that too. I think we need to stop complaining about shooting hours. Obviously, it gets hectic, but it’s fine—this is what we signed up for. I’m quite happy.”

Further adding about how long working hours affect one’s health, she added, “But yes, sometimes it does take a toll mentally and physically. When you’re shooting constantly, you do need a break. At the same time, on set you do get some breaks—half an hour, sometimes even an hour—so actors can rest or sleep. Overall, it’s not that bad. Yes, it’s 12 hours, but that happens everywhere. Even people working regular jobs go from 9 to 5—or even longer. One of my friends leaves at 9 and comes back at midnight, and that’s every day. It does get hectic, but you can’t help it. You’ve signed up for it, so you have to manage.”

Nidhi Shetty Admits Continuing Work Even When Unwell If The Role Demands

Further speaking about working through illness and handling demanding schedules even on difficult days, Nidhi added, “Kuch nahi kar sakte, aapko karna hi padta hai. If you want to take leave, you have to inform them maybe 15 days prior, at least 7 days before, and then you can get a holiday. But with fever, you don’t really know how things will go—you have no option. On set, when they know you’re unwell, they do take care of you. They don’t pressurise you or put an unnecessary burden. They are quite understanding. You can work at your own pace.”

The actress concluded, ” But if it’s very important and you’re needed, they can’t help it because sometimes the telecast is the next day or the day after. So it’s not their fault. But otherwise, they are lenient. You can rest, and they’ll only call you when your shot is ready. They won’t call you unnecessarily, so in that way, they are very helpful.”
