Fans may already know Sagar Parekh from his many roles on screen, but his time on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa showed a side of him that fans hadn’t seen before. Every week, he didn’t just perform; he pushed himself, and that effort showed in his dance performances on stage. During an exclusive interaction with Bollywood Bubble, the actor opened up about how dance impacted and changed his life. Read on to know all he shared.
Sagar Parekh: Dance Made Me Communicate Without Words
Talking about what dance added to his life, Sagar said it wasn’t just about learning steps. “It revealed a different layer of me that I hadn’t fully tapped into before,” he shared. As someone who comes from an acting background, he was used to expressing emotions through dialogue. Dance, however, changed that for him. “It made me communicate without words,” he explained, adding that it helped him trust his instincts more than before.
Sagar admitted that this shift also changed the way he approached his craft. Earlier, he would spend a lot of time thinking through every detail, but that slowly changed. “I stopped overthinking and started feeling more,” he said. According to him, that has been one of the biggest takeaways from the show.
Sagar: I Used To Practice Till 3 AM Sometimes
But the journey was far from easy. Sagar spoke honestly about how physically demanding it got at times. “There were days when it felt too much,” he said. He remembered dealing with constant pain, especially during the initial phase. “My feet were in really bad condition, my knees had given up, and I was still rehearsing,” he recalled. Despite that, he continued showing up every day.
His schedule was equally hectic. Shooting commitments during the day and dance rehearsals at night left him with barely any time to rest. “I used to practice till 3 in the morning sometimes,” he said, adding that even the crew would ask him to call it a day.
In the middle of all this, Sagar says he learned something that will stay with him for a long time – how to keep going even when things get overwhelming. He also began to value the quieter moments in life. “Even a little time to sit alone or be with family started to matter a lot more,” he shared.
