Sumbul Touqeer On Trolling And Its Impact

Talking about how trolling at a young age can leave a lasting emotional impact later in life, Sumbul Touqeer was asked whether she experienced trolling during her childhood or while working as a child actor. Responding to the question, she said, “I think agar aap chhote ho na tab trolling hona aapke mind pe zyada effect karta hai because when you grow up, you evolve as a person. You understand everyone’s mindset, why someone is saying what they are saying. Pehle woh bahut zyada effect karti hai when you are a kid, so that will kind of traumatise you aage ke liye.”

She further added,” That is something that I believe in, ki bachchon ke saath aisa nahi hona chahiye, when they are at a very young age. But when they grow up, they understand things. Waise toh trolling kabhi nahi honi chahiye, but to look at the positive side, it is a little, not completely easier, but a little easier when you are grown up.”

Sumbul Touqeer Talks About Her Experience Dealing With Trolls

Sharing her experience with trolling, she continued, “Bahut hui hai, abhi bhi hoti rehti hai. Roz hoti hai. Kabhi weight ko leke hoti hai, kabhi meri koi personal choice ko leke hoti hai, kabhi kuch link-up hota hai, toh woh different-different chalta rehta hai. But utna mujhe ab farak nahi padta. Kyunki log troll karne ke liye comments bhi karte hain, stories aati hain. Aisa nahi bolungi ki bilkul affect nahi hota hai, thoda toh definitely hota hai. I am also human. But comparatively jitna pehle hota tha usse kam hota hai. Now that I have understood ki inke paas sach mein aur koi kaam nahi hai. Like, why would you waste your time kisi aur ka din kharab karne mein? Why would you do that?”

Sumbul concluded, “If you are human enough, I believe that you will try to make someone else’s day better. If I talk about myself as a person, if I am walking down the street and I see someone struggling with something, be it picking up bags or anything else, I would ask them if they need help because that’s what a human would do. My biggest belief system is believing in humanity. Abhi woh baaki logon ka nahi hai, and I will never understand ki log kisi ka din kharab karne ke liye itne efforts kyun daalte hain.”
