Born on October 23, 1979, Prabhas’ real name is ‘Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju’. Yes, you heard it right. He is son of renowned producer U. Suryanarayana Raju. He is the youngest child and have two elder siblings. His uncle was a well-known actor in the Telugu film industry named Krishnam Raju Uppalapati. Prabhas obtained his Bachelor of Technology degree from Sri Chaitanya College in Hyderabad

Made his Bollywood debut before Saaho

He had a blink-and-miss appearance in Sonakshi Sinha and Ajay Devgn’s movie Action Jackson. He grooved with Sonakshi in song Mast Punjabi. Prabhas was reportedly even upset with Ajay Devgn because his cameo portion was edited significantly, making him look like a glorified extra in the film.

First South star to get wax statue at Madame Tussauds

Prabhas became the first South Indian celebrity in 2017 to have his own wax figure at the famous museum Madame Tussauds located in Bangkok. He has been honoured with a statue depicting him in the role of Amarendra Baahubali, clad in the warrior’s armour from the film Baahubali. What makes this achievement special is the fact that Prabhas received this honour even before the likes of Mohanlal, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and other South superstars.

Prabhas wanted to become a Hotelier and NOT actor

Prabhas is a true-blue foodie and his co-stars have several times shared instances about it. His favourite dish is chicken biryani. He even gets food for his co-stars. Shruti Haasan once revealed he treated her with seven course meal on Salaar set. He even won over his Kalki 2898 co-star Amitabh Bachchan by treating him with whole some meal.

In a statement he confessed, “I love Rajkumar Hirani’s films. I saw PK and I didn’t like it much… But I loved his previous three films. I have seen Munnabhai MBBS and 3 Idiots around 20 times”.

Prabhas dedicated 3.5 years for Baahubali

 He worked on the ‘Baahubali’ franchise for a total of 3.5 years and filmed for close to 600 days. During a press conference about Baahubali: The Beginning, Prabhas had said “For Rajamouli, I would have even spent more than four years on Baahubali. I would have been ready to dedicate even seven years for him on the project.” During the shoot of Baahubali, Prabhas declined a 10 crore ad endorsement

He didn’t care about fees and went under intense training

After hearing the script, Prabhas had so much faith in ‘Baahubali’ that he never cared about his fee. “He instructed his manager not to demand anything from producers and take anything they give,” Rajamouli said in a statement. Prabhas even gained 22 kgs for Baahubali and later had to drop weight for the role of Shivudu. He got a volleyball court set up in his courtyard to improve his reflexes for the war sequences.

SS Rajamouli revealed why Prabhas is not getting married

Since a few days, rumours about Prabhas dating Anushka Shetty again surfaced on the internet. However, Baahubali director SS Rajamouli once revealed why he does not want to get married. He said, “Prabhas is so lazy that he won’t even get married because that’s too much. Reacting to his comments, Prabhas also said, “Yes, I’m lazy, shy and I cannot meet people.” He even received more than 6000 proposals post Baahubali success.

His favourite vacation spot is…

The Salaar actor loves travelling and has the habit of flying off to foreign countries before the release of his films. His most favourite destination his Europe but he loves exploring other countries as well. Ahead of Radhe Shyam he went on a 10-day holiday to Italy. He also went to USA be for Adipurush release.
