Here’s what senior journalist Rajeev Masand’s column states, “Mohit had his heart set on casting Katrina in this love story adapted from the Chetan Bhagat bestseller. But Katrina, who reportedly liked the script, recommended that he cast another actress because she felt her “screen age” could hurt the film.”

If these reports are to believed, then this was the reason for Katrina opting out of the project and Shraddha coming on board. It would have been interesting to see Arjun Kapoor with Katrina Kaif.
