Fantastic Four Star Julian McMahon Passes Away At 56 After Long Battle With Cancer

Julian McMahon, the well-known Australian-American actor, has died at the age of 56 after a long battle with cancer. He was best known for his roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and Fantastic Four. His wife, Kelly McMahon, shared the sad news, saying Julian passed away peacefully and bravely fought his illness.

Kelly McMahon confirmed the news in a heartfelt statement to Deadline. “Julian passed away peacefully this week after a courageous battle to beat cancer,” she said. “He adored life, his work, his fans, and above all, his family. We ask that you give us privacy at this time of sorrow and ask all who cherished Julian to continue to find joy in life, as he did.”

Julian was the son of Sir William McMahon, who was Prime Minister of Australia from 1971 to 1972. Julian started his career as a model before acting in Australian TV shows. He then moved to the U.S. and gained fame on shows like Another World and Profiler. He became even more popular as Cole Turner in Charmed. His biggest TV role was as Dr. Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.

In movies, Julian was known for playing the villain Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel. He also acted in Premonition, RED, and Paranoia. More recently, Julian starred as Jess LaCroix in FBI: Most Wanted for three years until 2022. He also appeared in Hulu’s Marvel’s Runaways and Netflix’s The Residence, where he played the Australian Prime Minister. Dick Wolf, creator of FBI, said, “We are saddened by the loss of Julian. Our condolences go out to his whole family.”
