Justin Timberlake arrested on DUI charges in NY, released without bail- Details inside

Justin Timberlake is a much-loved international star who has amassed millions of fans across the globe with his foot-tapping music. However, he’s now in the news for not-so-good reasons. As per several media reports, the singer was busted for allegedly running a stop sign and weaving out of his lane in the Hamptons early Tuesday. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol leading to his arrest. The singer was later released with no bail. Read on to know all the details.

Justin Timberlake arrested on DUI charges

As reported by CNN, police stated that the singer was observed “operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition” around 12:37 am on Tuesday in Sag Harbor, New York. The ‘Cry Me a River’ singer was driving a 2025 BMW when stopped for questioning. A statement released by the Sag Harbor Police states that the singer allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and remain in his lane of travel.

According to court records, Timberlake told police he “had one martini and I followed my friends home” when questioned after an officer initiated a stop. Officers at the scene reported that the former NSYNC star’s “eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”

They added that the singer – who has acknowledged having a drinking problem in the past, refused to take a Breathalyzer test — three times. His attorney, Ed Burke, told the publication that the singer was placed under arrest and held overnight for arraignment. He was also cited for running the stop sign and failing to stay in his lane.

As per the report, Timberlake was released without bail and his next court appearance is scheduled for July 26. The appearance is expected to be virtual.
