Leoni and Daly first met in 2014 while working together on the CBS political drama Madam Secretary. They played a married couple—Elizabeth and Henry McCord—dealing with the challenges of politics and family life. Their strong on-screen bond soon turned into a real-life romance.

Their relationship started quietly and stayed mostly out of the public eye. By December 2014, sources confirmed they were dating. This came after Leoni finalized her divorce from actor David Duchovny, with whom she shares two children. She and Duchovny had been married for 17 years before their separation was finalized in August 2014.

In April 2015, Leoni and Daly made their first public appearance as a couple at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C. They were seated at a notable table with journalist Bob Schieffer and former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Daly joked at the event, saying, “We’re gonna be a hot table.”

Following their red-carpet debut, their Madam Secretary co-star Geoffrey Arend shared that the couple’s relationship had been a surprise to many on set. “Nobody knew,” he said, highlighting how private the pair had been.

Throughout their years together, Leoni and Daly kept their relationship low-key, rarely appearing in public or discussing their personal lives in interviews. Now, after nearly a decade together, they’ve officially become husband and wife.
