Bhoomi, Haseena Parkar

We have all seen the fabulous trailer of Sanjay Dutt’s comeback movie ‘Bhoomi’. The trailer depicts a father who is out to seek revenge for whatever happened to his daughter, played by Aditi Rao Hydari. The trailer gave us goosebumps and we are sure Baba’s fans are in for a treat. However, the movie is going to clash with two other movies, Shraddha Kapoor-starrer ‘Haseena Parkar’ which is a biopic on the life of the dreaded gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena, and the other is Rajkummar Rao-starrer ‘Newton’ which has traveled to several film festivals and garnered praises and accolades.

So, as we caught up with the producer of ‘Bhoomi’, Sandeep Singh, in an exclusive conversation, we asked him about his movie clashing with another intense and gripping drama ‘Haseena Parkar’ on Sept 22, 2017. He seemed quite chilled out about the same, as he started off by saying, “See, I will tell you one thing, we have made the film. Now there is a ‘Newton’ which is coming on Sept 22, we were the first ones to take Sept 22, but there are so many films which are being made so they also finally have to release. So I don’t think either ‘Haseena’ makers or ‘Newton’ makers or ‘Bhoomi’ makers should be nervous or worried about it. It’s all on destiny and it depends on how the film is.” (Also Read: Exclusive: It took Sanjay Dutt 3 minutes before he agreed to do ‘Bhoomi’, says producer)

He further added, “I think box office is important not just for me but the entire industry because right now the industry is going through a very very bad phase. So, I hope and pray that the films do well. I’m hearing very good reports from ‘Baadshaho’, it has opened well, so I pray that ‘Baadshaho’ does very well for Bhushan Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi who all are my friends. So, I think box office is important and I think people should now go to theatres and watch the film. Because of social media, piracy, GST we are suffering a lot.”

Directed by Omung Kumar, ‘Bhoomi’ will hit the big screens on Sept 22, 2017.
