Irrfan Khan new movie

‘Hindi Medium’ released this Friday, and despite being niche cinema, managed to wow critics and tug at audiences’ hearts alike. Though it is too early to say what would be the box office verdict, but whether or not it rakes in numbers, it has surely won hearts. Irrfan Khan’s choice of roles is truly stupendous and there is no denying that he breathes life into every performance of his.

And now, soon after the release of this beautiful piece of cinema of his, we get another good news. Irrfan Khan has been roped in to play the lead role in the adaptation of a novel ‘Moth Smoke’ which has been written by Pakistani origin writer Mohsin Hamid.

Academy Award winning director Asif Kapadia will be the one co-writing the script and taking the chair of director for this one. The novel follows the life of Darashikoh Shehzad, who has an affair with the wife of his best friend. The plot is set against the backdrop of 1998 nuclear tests carried out by India and Pakistan.

With Irrfan’s acting skills and Asif’s directorial panache, we are sure a masterpiece is on cards. We can’t wait for this one.
