Sachin Tendulkar

The year 2016 seems to be the year of biopics. It is a treat for the cricket fans as after ‘Azhar’ and ‘Dhoni’ biopics, we have a film on the greatest batsman Sachin Tendulkar all set to hit screens soon. ‘Sachin – A Billion Dreams’, is directed by James Erskine and the makers had unveiled the first look of the film, which only showed us Sachin’s pads. Now we have another look being unveiled that has a fan of Sachin wearing the Indian cricket team jersey with Tendulkar’s name emblazoned on it. He is carrying his son on his shoulders, who is also wearing the same type of jersey.

The new look aptly describes the dedication and hero worship that the Master Blaster garners from his fans. The caption, “Three Generations. One Hero,” too hits the right notes. The makers, who have been shooting for the film since past one and half year, have confided that it is neither a documentary nor a biopic, but a feature film that was shot in real time.

If ‘MS Dhoni’ biopic has Sushant Singh Rajput depicting the role titular role and ‘Azhar’ has Emraan Hashmi then ‘Sachin – A Billion Dreams’ stars the cricketer himself. As the production house wants the film to release before the Dhoni biopic, that is before September 2, they are racing against time to complete it. The teaser will be out on April 14.
