Shah Rukh Khan teams up with director Kabir Khan after ‘Tubelight’, with a twist

After directing films like ‘New York’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and the soon to release ‘Tubelight’, filmmaker Kabir Khan is surely a sought after name these days in Bollywood. As many would know he has frequently collaborated with superstar Salman Khan and ‘Tubelight’ is their latest offering which is all set for a release. Recently, the teaser of this film was released and it was well received by audiences. But, before the release of this film, the director has already started shooting for his next and to our surprise he has teamed up with none other than superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Yes! You heard it right.

Shah Rukh Khan and director Kabir Khan have teamed up yet again for a project. Many would know that SRK will be seen in a cameo in ‘Tubelight’. Talking about their new project, there’s a slight twist to it. Kabir Khan has also confirmed to a leading daily saying, “I’m in Dubai shooting a short film with Shah Rukh Khan for Dubai tourism.” [sic]

Apart from this short film, there are reports being heard that SRK and Kabir are also planning to team up for a feature film project very soon.

Talking about it, a source close to the development has quoted to a leading daily saying, “Shah Rukh and Kabir are very keen on doing a feature film; they go back a very long way.” [sic]

“In fact, not many people know this, but Shah Rukh’s character in ‘Chak De! India’ was named Kabir after Kabir Khan. When Kabir asked Shah Rukh to make a guest appearance in Salman’s Tubelight, the latter said ‘yes’ without a second thought. Now, when SRK asked Kabir to shoot a short film for him, the director readily agreed, setting his hectic post-production schedule for ‘Tubelight’ aside, to fly to Dubai,” added the source. [sic]

Isn’t that great news?

Well, we hope that Shah Rukh Khan soon teams up for a feature film with Kabir Khan and that they create the same magic just as the latter has delivered with superstar Salman Khan.
