Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most popular Bollywood actors with a huge fan following. But not many know that in the early days of his career, there were not many who recognised him. Here is a funny anecdote a blast from the past when the actor was not allowed to attend the muhurat of his movie. The reason was the security guard who did not recognise SRK.
Shah Rukh Khan not allowed to attend muhurat
In an old interview with actress and celebrity host Simi Garewal on her popular chat show, King Khan revealed that he was not allowed to attend the muhurat shot of his film as the security guard failed to recognise him.
Shah Rukh Khan revealed, “This guy stopped me from entering my own muhurat. It’s a little strange saying, ‘look, I am Shah Rukh Khan’ and I’m saying that I am the hero of this film.” However, the security guard refused to believe I am a film actor and said, “Bahut dekhein hain heere moti maine tere jaise.(I have seen many like you before)”
The Badshah kept repeating to him that he is the hero of the movie. But the guard refused to believe him. SRK added, “I told him that everyone will be waiting for me please let me go. But he did not let me in. Finally, a crew member from the film’s team was called. He told the guard that Shah Rukh was indeed the lead hero. To this the guard quipped, “Personality toh hai nahi. Yeh kaise hero hai? (He has no personality. How is he a hero?)“
The movie in question was Shikhar a love story with a war backdrop. It had Shah Rukh Khan and Jackie Shroff playing the lead roles and a new girl was to be signed as the female lead. Subhash Ghai was to direct the movie but it was shelved due to budget issues. Later Subhash Ghai made Pardes with Shah Rukh Khan.
