Golmaal

In the year 2006 on the fateful day of July 14, a new comic franchise took shape. Filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s first attempt at comedy began with the multi-starrer flick ‘Golmaal‘ which released on this day. The movie which boasted of actors like Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Sharman Joshi turned out to be a surprise hit. The critics and audiences alike took the gags and humour very well. The music too was loved by the viewers.

‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’ also consisted of good supporting actors like Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Mukherjee who essayed the role of a blind couple staying in a bungalow. These four runaway crooks played by Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Sharman Joshi take refuge in the bungalow and one of them pretends to be the blind couple’s grandson, Sameer and hence starts a journey of humour and emotions. Also, one cannot forget Vasooli bhai (played fabulously by Mukesh Tiwari). (Also Read: Rohit Shetty speaks up on ‘Golmaal Again’ clashing with Aamir Khan’s ‘Secret Superstar’)

Now, the fourth movie ‘Golmaal Again’ is in the making with Parineeti Chopra and Tabu being the new additions to the franchise. So, it’s indeed a celebration fo sorts for the makers as the first part clocks 11 long years today.
