Milind Soman and Madhu Sapre in Tuff Shoes

The then supermodels, Milind Soman and Madhu Sapre came under media scanner when they appeared in an advertisement for a shoe brand. The advertisements had Milind and Madhu in nothing but shoes and a python wrapped around. This was in the year 1995 and people went on a rampage against this advertisement. Several obscenity cases were filled against the two, leading to a big controversy.

Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea

Once a hit jodi of Bollywood, Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu once featured in a commercial for a lingerie label. The commercial had Dino pulling Bipasha's panties with his teeth and had a tag line, "And you thought your appetite for indulgence could only be whetted by Swiss chocolates." This was considered as an extremely obscene act with a lot of people criticising the stars.

Amitabh Bachchan in Pepsi ad

Being a megastar, Amitabh Bachchan has several endorsements in his kitty. He was once the face of the most famous soft drink brand Pepsi. But his association with the brand didn't last too long as he opted out of this deal following a self-realisation. It so happened that a little girl asked Big B why he promotes a drink which is considered as poison by her mother and teacher, and that's when he decided to stop endorsing it. Reports suggest that the PepsiCo officials criticised this decision leading to a controversy.

Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora Khan

Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan fell in love with each other when they appeared in an advertisement of a coffee label. Though this advertisement proved to be lucky for the couple, it also called for a lot of attention of the critics. It was a rather bold advertisement which carried a tagline, "Real pleasure can’t come in an ‘instant’." This advertisement was later banned citing that it was misleading.

Shah Rukh Khan in Fair and Handsome

Shah Rukh Khan's decision to endorse a fairness cream had a tremendous effect on the audience, but all negative. People criticised him for demeaning dark skinned people. An online campaign titled 'Dar and Beautiful' was started in response to SRK's ad which was apparently supported by Aamir Khan.

Everything was fine till the time Akki asked his wife Twinkle Khanna, who was seated in the audience, to unbutton his denim. So, it was not a surprise that he chose to promote a condom brand. The advertisement went viral and he was bashed for the over the top exposure.

Actress Sana Khan rose to limelight when her first ever commercial made it to the television screen and no it was not because of her beauty or acting, but it was because of the bold and explicit content of the advertisement. She featured in an 'Amul Macho' advertisement and the tagline of this campaign 'Yeh Toh Bada Toing Hai' caught everyone's attention. Soon after its release, the IB Ministry of India ordered to pull off this advertisement from public viewing as it was high on sensual content.
