Bollywood stars who fell victim to drug addiction

Sussanne Khan

There are rumours that actor Sanjay Khan's daughter and Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan's former wife Sussanne Khan is addicted to drugs. It is also said that her addiction to cocaine is one of the factors that acted as catalyst in the decaying of her proximity with Hrithik.

Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt took drug for the first time when he was in college and that dragged him towards a dangerous addiction. In one of the conversations, he said, "Someone asked me to try it once, I tried it and then it remained with me for the next nine years of my life. I always used to be in my own world. From heroin to cocaine, I tried everything that was there in the books. I used to sniff and take pills. In the last year before my treatment started, I even used to inject drugs into my body." Dutt had even shared how he once fell asleep after taking drug, and woke up hungry after sometime. When he asked the maid to get some food, the maid started crying. That day, Dutt was left shocked to hear that he slept for two days! In 1982, the police arrested him for a drug related case and he was imprisoned for five months.

Vijay Raaz

Despite all critical acclaim and fame that his acting career has earned him, Vijay Raaz couldn't stay away from the company of drugs. He was even accused of possessing drugs and was detained at the Dubai airport once.

Ranbir Kapoor

In a conversation with a magazine, the Kapoor lad had confessed that he regularly smoked pot till when he was learning acting.

Fardeen Khan

In 2005, the police arrested Fardeen Khan from Juhu (Mumbai) for carrying cocaine. He supposedly has been a drug-addict too.

Apoorva Agnihotri

Apurva Agnihotri of 'Pardes' fame was caught attending a rave party in March, 2013. He was being accompanied by wife and television actress Shilpa Agnihotri while the police caught them along with DJsDeepesh Sharma & Rakesh Sharma.

Manisha Koirala

Manisha Koirala was severely addicted to drugs and alcohol till she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Apparently, she gave up to professional and personal stress and escaped to addiction. However, she won the battle and has recovered now. Manisha, now, is an anti-drug campaigner and works to raise awareness against consumption of drugs.
