In 1988, Madhuri Dixit featured as a female lead opposite Vinod Khanna in a film called ‘Dayavan’. The pairing of the two was quite unusual considering Vinod Khanna being elder to Madhuri by 20 years. But more than this age gap, the bold scene shared by the two in the film grabbed a lot of attention. Madhuri and Vinod indulged in an intimate scene which included a passionate kiss shared by the two. There was so much hullaballoo around this scene that Madhuri regretted pulling off this intimate scene altogether. Later, she wished that she had rejected this scene.

Too Pricey!

Stars and their starry tantrums always call for attention and Madhuri is no exception. The beautiful lady had once made it to the headlines for apparently being too pricey. Reports suggest that in the year 2012, Madhuri apparently asked for a sum of whopping 9-10 crores from Maharashtra Government to promote the state. It was a 21-day campaign and Madhuri demanded a huge amount to be the brand ambassador of the same. This didn’t go down well with the politicians and she was soon criticised for acting too pricey.

Cold war with Juhi Chawla!

As the notion goes, no two female actresses can be friends in the industry, Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla too made up for arch rivals. Both the leading ladies stepped into the glamorous industry at almost the same time and soon a competition between the two began. Madhuri and Juhi tried their best to compete with each other in various ways and remained rivals until they featured together in the recent film ‘Gulaab Gang.’

Tiff with Govinda?

A controversy broke out when Madhuri Dixit rejected T Rama Rao’s film ‘Sada Suhagan’ opposite Govinda. It is being said that Govinda’s career had hit the rock bottom then and hence, Madhuri opted out of the project as she did not want to feature opposite a failed star. Later, in one of her interviews, Madhuri rubbished all the rumours and gave a detailed explaination on to why she chose not to do ‘Sada Suhagan’. She was quoted saying, “I had signed this film (Sada Suhagan) along with Swati and Awara Baap. Simultaneously, I was also being signed for heroine roles. Like for Uttar Dakshin. And then big producers like Boney Kapoor also began to approach me. So I went and spoke to T Rama Rao and explained that I did not want to act in a small role, when I was getting female leads. I did this for my career and not because I had anything against Govinda. In fact he was still quite a hit after Ilzaam and one wouldn’t shy away from working with him. So I don’t know why I’m not being paired opposite him.”

Noodle ad gone wrong!

Madhuri Dixit received a lot of flak from her fans when she appeared in an advertisement promoting the nutrition value of Maggi Noodles. The Noodles and its negative impact on the health of kids has been the issue of national debate and when Madhuri appeared in this advertisement, she was criticised for neglecting the negative connotations attached to the brand. To add on to this, the Food and Drug commission of Uttar Pradesh discovered Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG) and high amounts of lead in Maggi products. Madhuri was then slammed with a legal notice for endorsing the product.
