Akshaye will play an important role in Mahakali, but it’s still a secret whether he’ll be the villain or a surprise hero, as per the reports. What we do know is that his character will add excitement and mystery to the growing superhero universe.

The film is still in the pre-production stage. Creator Prasanth Varma and director Puja Aparna Kolluru are busy finalizing the cast and working on the details before shooting begins. According to Hindustan Times sources, “Prasanth is particular about who he wants to cast as the lead because this will be his first female superhero, and it requires a certain charm while challenging beauty standards. Hopefully, all details will be ironed out soon, and the film will officially be rolled out.”

The PVCU began last year with HanuMan, a superhero film based on the legend of Lord Hanuman, starring Teja Sajja. A sequel, Jai Hanuman, featuring Rishab Shetty, is currently in the works. Mahakali, inspired by Goddess Kali, is the third film in this expanding universe. Other films include Adhira, featuring Dasari Kalyan as a hero based on Lord Indra, and an upcoming untitled film starring Mokshagna Teja.
