Jana Nayagan: Vijay Thalapathy Starrer’s Editor Pradeep E Raghav Suspended Over Leak Controversy; Madras HC Blocks Pirated Film Online

The suspension of Jana Nayagan’s editor has sparked concern within the Tamil film industry, amid allegations of bylaw violations and links to the film’s leak. Pradeep E Raghav faces disciplinary action as questions about accountability and piracy control intensify. Six arrests have been made in the high-profile piracy case, with the Madras High Court blocking the illegal online circulation of Vijay’s upcoming film.

Jana Nayagan Editor Suspended After Vijay Thalapathy’s Film Leak

The film’s leak, which surfaced before certification, prompted the Tamil Film Editors Association to suspend Raghav following internal discussions. The association highlighted that he had repeatedly violated regulations by hiring non-members as assistants across multiple projects, including Jana Nayagan. Concerns grew further due to his alleged involvement in the leak, raising broader industry accountability issues.

In an official statement, the association confirmed the suspension after an emergency meeting on April 17. During the meeting all professional ties with Raghav were severed. They urged other industry bodies to support this action to uphold industry standards and prevent further breaches. The piracy crackdown has led to swift arrests, with the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing apprehending a freelance editor believed to be responsible for accessing and leaking the film’s footage.

3 suspects were arrested on April 15 following a detailed technical investigation. A total of 6 individuals are in custody for uploading and circulating the pirated content. The Madras HC has issued a temporary order to halt the distribution of the unauthorised version across social media, online platforms, and cable networks.
