Mahesh Babu’s mother passes away, Chiranjeevi offers condolences

Mahesh Babu’s mother, Indira Devi, passed away on Wednesday. If reports are to be believed, she breathed her last at 4 am. She was not keeping well for the past few weeks and was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad for her illness.

According to a statement from Mahesh Babu’s family, Indira Devi’s funeral will reportedly take place at Maha Prasthanam. The statement read, “Smt Ghattamaneni Indira Devi, wife of veteran actor Krishna and mother of Mahesh Babu passed away a short while ago. She had been suffering from illness for quite some time now. Her mortal remains will be kept at Padmalaya Studios for fans to visit at 9 am today and later the last rites will be performed at Maha Parasthanam.”

Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi offered condolences to his family. The veteran actor tweeted in Telugu, “Extremely sad to hear about the demise of Indira Devi garu. I convey my deepest condolences to superstar Krishna garu, brother Mahesh Babu and the family.”

Fans too offered their condolences to the family. A fan commented, “May her soul rest in peace.” Another one commented, “Om Shanthi.” “Rest in peace Indiramma garu… Thanks for giving us Mahesh Babu,” wrote a fan. Another fan commented, “Rest in peace Indira Devi Garu.”

Mahesh Babu shared a close bond with his mother. His last post for his mother was in May this year. The actor had shared photos of his mother, wife Namrata Shirodkar and their children Gautham and Sitara Ghattamaneni. He had captioned it, “To my Amma. To the mother of my lifelines. And to all the mothers in the world… A very happy Mother’s Day! Your love is irreplaceable. Respect always!”
