Tamannaah Bhatia needs no introduction. With two decades across Telugu and Tamil cinema, a franchise in Baahubali that broke every geographic and linguistic barrier Indian cinema had built around itself, and six films across six genres currently in the pipeline. She is by any measure, one of the most consistently working and sought-after names in Indian cinema right now. But here’s the thing. While the Hindi film industry is only now waking up to what a force Tamannaah truly is, the South has known it for years.
Madhoo Sah Praises Tamannaah Bhatia
And in a recent interview, actress Madhoo Sah put it simply and perfectly. “Now everybody is looking at her, Tamannaah Bhatia, as a Hindi actor and they are giving her so much love and so much respect. But you know, before she became famous actually in Hindi, she has been a superstar in the South for the last 10, 12, 15 years. Suddenly they say, who is Tamannaah? She also did South? That’s how Hindi people are talking.”
Madhoo added, “She was a huge star in the South. But the Hindi audiences and the people did not know about it. Because the industries were very separate. Now it has come together. So it’s not ‘not getting credit’. It was how the world was. It was how the cinema was. So now we recognise every actor, every technician and there’s a lot of love and respect.”
On the work front, Tamannaah will be next seen in Vvan-Force of the Forrest, Purushan, V. Shantaram, Untitled Jagan Shakti film, Untitled Rohit Shetty film and Ragini.
