After the coronavirus pandemic outbreak, many movies surfaced that predicted some kind of deadly virus in the future. Of course, the virus mentioned in those movies were fictional, but the symptoms of the virus match with the Covid-19 virus.

Even one of the episodes of the most-watched show ‘CID’ was on a deadly virus. The episode was titled ‘The Case of the Deadly Virus’ (Khatarnak Virus Ka Rahasya). It was aired in 1998.

Actor Shivaji Satam, who played ACP Pradyuman on the series, compared its plot to the current coronavirus pandemic situation. He told Mumbai Mirror, “One of the most memorable CID episodes for me was ‘The Case of the Deadly Virus’. It was quite similar to the current outbreak, in which, faced with an unknown virus threat, we needed masks and bodysuits to handle it. Of course, back then, all we could show was a vial of the fast-spreading contagion, but the premise was the same.”

In the episode, it is shown that CID investigates about a deadly virus that is about to put the population at risk. A doctor tells the CID team that the virus spreads rapidly and can be transmitted by sneezing, coughing, or shaking hands. A pharma employee after being fired decides to take revenge on his senior and he steals the vial that contains the virus. The team starts the investigation to search the vial. “Then, my team of detectives and I helped save the day,” Shivaji Satam said.

When the episode begins, there is a voiceover saying about the virus, “This seemingly harmless vial contains a dangerous strand of a new virus. A kind previously unknown to man. Not only does it cause a horrifying death, it also spreads like wildfire, taking more and more lives. The only cure for this virus is death.”
