Whenever an actor is playing a god or goddess onscreen, people automatically start worshipping them and forget the real person who is portraying the character. There have been instances where the fans are touching the actor’s feet and folding hands whenever they spot them at an event. Similarly, people are still considering actor Dipika Chikhlia as Goddess Sita who played the character in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan. But unfortunately, Dipika Chikhlia was brutally criticised recently for her outfit.

Recently, she shared some pictures on her social media platform where she was seen wearing a blue skirt along with a white shirt and a tie. Dressing as a school student, Dipika is seen posing with her daughters at an event. As soon as the pictures went viral, fans were irked to see their Goddess Sita in a skirt. However, now reacting to fans’ hatred, Dipika revealed that she felt bad to see netizens trolling her. “No, else I would have never done it. I never want to hurt my fans. I am feeling bad that I have been trolled. I am feeling bad that I have hurt my fans’ sentiments. I am aware that people see me as Sita and not as Dipika,” Dipika told ETimes.

Soon after she faced criticism from netizens, Dipika deleted the pictures from her page. Explaining why she had to delete it, the Bala actor said, “Absolutely. I realised people had got unhappy. There’s enough happening in the world. Why add one more issue? (Pauses). I am not justifying what I have done. I am clear that it was a mistake on my part. I am not trying to evade my larger-than-life image and explain that main insaan hoon.
