Shoaib Ibrahim Informs Dipika Kakar’s Cyst Removal Surgery Went Well
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Shoaib wrote, “Allah ke karam se aur aap sabki duaaon se Dippi’s procedure is done. All went well. She is also doing fine, bas thode pain me hai. But nothing to worry about. Thank you all once again for your prayers.”
Shoaib Ibrahim’s Story
Over the weekend, Dipika and Shoaib shared updates in their YouTube vlogs, revealing that doctors had discovered a new cyst, leading to the decision for her to undergo surgery again to have it removed.
Shoaib Elaborated On Dipika’s Surgery
In his Saturday vlog, Shoaib explained, “Today (Saturday) was a full day of hospital visits. Everything was fine until yesterday. Dipika had mild stomach pain for a couple of days, which worsened on Friday night. We visited the doctor, got a CT scan done, and found out she has another 13 mm cyst.”
He added, “Apart from this cyst, everything else is normal. That’s what we were worried about. The doctor had previously told us that poorly differentiated, aggressive tumors have a chance of recurring. Even though it’s in the early stages now, it didn’t show up in the PET scan we did in December. We also did blood tests, and the results showed some slight elevations. The doctor has decided to treat it without major surgery—just burn the cyst. She’ll be hospitalized for 3-4 days, and the procedure is scheduled for Tuesday. We’re grateful we caught it early. Her treatment plan might also change afterward; she may stop oral chemotherapy and instead need proper immunotherapy.”
Dipika Gets Emotional
Dipika was emotional during her recent YouTube vlog. She said, “Going forward, I will be on immunotherapy. The targeted therapy will stop. I’m trying to find courage; this is life, and you never know what will happen. Sunday was our anniversary. I wanted to do something special for Shoaib. We were planning to go out, but that’s not possible now because of the severe pain.”
Dipika was diagnosed with a tennis ball-sized cancerous tumour in her liver last May. She underwent major surgery in June and has been undergoing ongoing treatment since then.
